From MLS directly:
Designated Player (“DP”) Salary Budget Charge: In 2009, the DP charge is $415,000.
Second Designated Player (“DP”) Salary Budget Charge: In 2009, the second DP charge is $335,000.
Mid-Season Designated Player (“DP”) Salary Budget Charge: In 2009, the Mid-Season DP charge is $210,000.
Al is the head North American researcher for Football Manager/World Wide Soccer Manager. In that role he works directly with MLS so that the game is a close to reality as possible.

yep, and a way around the DP cap hit being so burdensome is to use allocation money to reduce other players' contracts.... almost the same as just knocking down the 415 or 210 with allocation, but for some reason MLS doesn't allow that directly.
