Some morning briefs

Time is short this morning, but here's a few things to keep you thinking.

  • It seems that Julian de Guzman will be leaving Deportivo La Coruna, with England, Spain, Russia(!)or Germany the likely destinations. Toronto is not in play, although he did say that he'd love to play there some day. Where do you think he should play?
  • There is no new information on the DeRo situation, but in conversations I had yesterday those with knowledge of the negotiations indicate that they "remain very optimistic that this matter will be dealt with in a favorable way."
  • With the location of the CONCACAF Champions League quarterfinal set, soccer fans from across the country are making plans to get to Montreal for the game. But, it's opened up a debate new to Canadian football - should Canadians automatically support the Impact in an international tournament, even if they typically are rivals with them? What's your thoughts?
  • Former Houston goaltender coach Michael Toshack is joining TFC's coaching staff.

Never will i support Montreal, couldnt care less that they are the only Canadian team. Im not from there, ive never lived there and I hate their team. I love this great country of ours but i am a firm believer in the traditional football rivalries. That means you never support any team but your own, club over country.
How can you support a team that beat your own?
