Very good show today. We'll know more about what Preki thinks of TFC's squad when the protected list of players for the expansion draft comes out. I'm really looking forward to seeing who Preki does think is worth to keep going forward.

Montreal is no big suprise but the fact that Ben came out and comfirmed it is massive for the country. You are right Duane when you said that soccer is on the cusp of breaking through. Don't know if the people of cities like Ottawa will show the support for a 2nd tier league, though I really would like them to prove me wrong there.

Galaxy win 2-0 Sunday. Beckham scoring one and assisting on the other.

Can put the doorbell sound effect volume down on "The Full 90" section? The doorbell sound is more louder than your voices, which is very low and doorbell is a little annoying.

Anyway, keep up the great work with the show. I like listening to you guys.

Guys who make this show PLEASE read this... You guys talked alot about overpaying Preki 300k... I think its a reasonable sum of money. WHile you have no mention of the fact that Mo is getting half a million dollars per year... for somebody who just comes out and does the "drafts" once a year which in my view he is overated for. Anyway while other coaches have to do drafts... coach a team and make signing ( like DC united) and actually picking up pontius was an excellent pick up that many times goes un noticed..
Please look at the BIG picture...perhaprs you should ask yourself whether we are overpaying MO and whether his position is really necessary knowing that ancelmi made the preki deal... what do we really have him here for?

Keep MO said...

That's a really, really simplified version of his duties.

Every player (and the ten you never knew about) that comes into Toronto was researched, scouted and signed by Mo.

That includes trades, academy signings, developmental signings, DP's, internationals, domestics etc...

You are correct Mo does the draft. And does it well judging by the signings this team makes every year. He has built this team from the ground up and in three short years accomplished a fair bit. You may not share that opinion but consider how many people would have ever thought Julian DeGuzman would be in a Toronto uniform and you will see that there is more to success than just playoffs.

If you have ever seen him or been around him you would know the man is on his Blackberry every minute of every day. Do you know what he's doing? Working.

And while is salary is up for debate (although he is actually making less than Preki now) it gets really tiring to hear the same stupid Fire Mo chants for the uninformed idiots who can't be bothered to look around a bit before they conclude that firing the GM is the only way to solve TFC's woes.
