This time official, official. Stephen Hart is the new head coach of the Canadian men's national team.
I already covered this a month or so ago when I first reported that this would be happening, but it's worth quickly repeating now:
Based on what the CSA can afford and based on what he's done (for the most pat), it's a decent enough choice. Hart is a well-liked and well-respected coach. He's got the team to perform when it most mattered (at the Gold Cup) and, let's face it - we can't afford Guus Hiddink.
The press conference is at 1:30 p.m. EST. I'll be there. And I'll be Twittering it live at @24thminute.
One thing I plan on trying to get the leadership to speak to is the ongoing USL-1/TOA crisis (I can't wait to see the confused look on the face of the intern that the Star sends to the presser when I start to talk about the TOA's efforts to start the NASL 2.0 and whether the CSA is worried about whether the USSF's decision will impact the NCC thus making Canadian fans SOL).
