Regardless of whether Malhotra has the money or political ability to get this done it was clear that he was sincere and understands supporter's culture. There would be no bouncy castle at the stadium if Malhotra was involved.
There are questions, of course. It would be nice if Malhotra was a billionaire, for one (I'm sure he'd agree) and the stadium would require some work to make it work (although he is convinced it could be successful).
Here is an image of how Malhotra plans to situate the field.

Regardless it's nice to see more people interested in the sport in this country. Particularly those, like Malhotra, that appear to "get it."

I love the concept of a professional football team in Ottawa but that is one lousy set of sight lines!
I still think the Landsowne Live proposal is the best route.
Too bad it's going to be a second class team
I would love for this stupid city to use that relatively new baseball stadium for something. And while it obviously wouldn't be the best fit for footy, I still prefer that to Lansdowne (cause it's closer to my home!)
Besides, while the current stands are not suited to football, they could put stands on the north side and extend the ones on the south side to make things a bit better. It wouldn't have the great stands behind the goals, like in most good stadiums, but it'd still be better for the city than spending way too much money on Lansdowne, where the main plan is to bring back the CFL so it can fail a 3rd time.
the stadium's configuration HAS TO BE CHANGED
Soccer in a baseball stadium will never work long term. I doubt the NASL will last either. Right off the bat they chose a name that gives the appearance of a competing league. On top of that there is the failure of the NASL and that image is still in a lot of people's minds. I doubt the USSF approves of NASL as it is now. They may approve another league but there will be conditions and not using NASL will probably be one of them.
